SUMMARY:Sam Redmore\, J-Felix (DJ set) & Essa @ The Magic GardenGet tickets here!!!
DESCRIPTION:Get your tickets here!!! \nTwo of the finest DJ’s well known for getting any party started with the best tune selections and the incredible Essa on the mic\n\n\nWe are very lucky to have two wonderfully skilled DJ’s gracing the deck at The Magic Garden! Sam Redmore and J-Feliex will be laying down the best beats with all things funky\, disco\, tropical\, housey\, groovy and so much more! Performing on the night will also be Essa\, known to be one of the most intellectually gifted lyricists London has to offer. \n \nA hugely respected DJ in his hometown of Birmingham and long-standing resident at seminal club nights including Leftfoot and Magic Door\, Sam Redmore has built a formidable reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting and versatile selectors and producers. \nHe truly broke onto the UK music scene in 2022 with the release of his debut album “Universal Vibrations” – a vibrant\, wide-ranging collection of global grooves and eclectic dancefloor heaters capable of igniting any party. Redmore built on that momentum in October 2025 with the release of his second album “Modulate” – a dancefloor-focused record that blends electronic and programmed elements with rich live instrumentation. The album features collaborations with internationally esteemed artists including Dele Sosimi and Abdominal\, as well as the track “Pride\,” originally commissioned as the theme music for Joe Lycett’s stand-up show. \nBeyond radio\, Sam has cultivated a huge and highly engaged online following\, regularly sharing selections and insights that showcase both his DJ skills and his deep-rooted love and knowledge of music – spanning funk\, disco\, house and broken beat through to afrobeat\, cumbia\, salsa and samba. These wide-ranging influences are central to Sam’s identity as both producer and DJ. Whether delivering an all-night-long journey that transcends genres or a tightly focused set packed with the choicest disco\, house and broken beat cuts\, Redmore has the taste\, technical skill and musical intuition to move any dancefloor. \n \nBristol-born and Brighton-based\, J-Felix is a producer\, musician and DJ whose music sits at the crossroads of Modern Funk\, Soul\, Jazz and Hip-Hop with touches of Electronic production. His debut album 101 Reasons (Tru Thoughts) introduced his forward-thinking sound\, followed by the acclaimed The Runaway EP and sophomore LP Whole Again Hooligan\, along with a series of singles and remixes. These releases earned him support slots for legends such as George Clinton\, Roy Ayers\, and Soul II Soul. \nContinuing to push things forward J-Felix launched his own imprint with THE MiNT EXPERiMENT Vol. 1 & 2 and the follow-up single\, Love Come Down\, both receiving critical praise\, national radio support from BBC 1Xtra\, Radio 1\, and BBC 6 Music\, and placements on high-profile DSP playlists. A seasoned live performer\, J-Felix has toured the UK with his band The Extended Family\, selling out shows and bringing his vibrant fusion of groove and improvisation to stages across the UK. As a DJ\, he’s appeared internationally at festivals including Glastonbury\, We Out Here\, Love Supreme\, Soundwave\, and Nova Batida. \nWidely supported by tastemakers such as Jamz Supernova\, Gilles Peterson\, Julie Adenuga\, Huey Morgan\, and FIP Radio\, J-Felix continues to build a growing legacy as both a producer and musician. His studio playing spans on music from a diverse roster of artists including Ibibio Sound Machine\, Harleighblu\, Mahalia\, Swindle\, Kojey Radical\, and Róisín Murphy\, while his remix credits include Hot 8 Brass Band\, Werkha\, Lakuta\, and Amp Fiddler. On his own records\, he’s worked with artists like Byron The Aquarius\, Andrew Ashong\, El Train and BODUR\, extending his musical world through soulful collaborations and genre-blending creativity. As a guitarist\, J-Felix has also toured extensively with Alice Russell and joined Swindle on the No More Normal tour. \n \nFew artists bridge worlds like Essa. With a poet’s soul and a lawyer’s precision\, he crafts emotive hip-hop that resonates far beyond the surface. Raised in a leafy suburb\, educated at a prestigious boarding school and qualified in commercial law\, his path into hip-hop was anything but typical. Yet as Yungun\, he became a defining voice of the UK scene’s golden era — delivering party anthems\, cryptic love songs\, bilingual wordplay and introspective escapism that earned praise from Nas and Mark Ronson. \nHis debut The Essance placed him at the vanguard of the scene\, alongside contemporaries Sway\, Klashnekoff and Jehst\, before Grown Man Business — a souldrenched collaboration with DJ Mr. Thing — took him touring across Europe\, China\, Russia and Australia. Along the way\, he recorded with Guru and Inspectah Deck\, and shared stages with De La Soul\, Slum Village and Pharoahe Monch. \nAll this whilst building a high-flying legal career. But as his professional profile rose\, his musical output slowed — until his return as Essa with The Misadventures of a Middle Man\, a bold\, reflective exploration of race\, class\, identity and masculinity. Re-energised\, he followed with Resonance\, a deeply soulful collaboration with elite producer Pitch 92\, delivering his most assured and accomplished work to date — proof that time has only sharpened his pen.
