With a powerhouse line-up of strings\, brass\, wind\, piano and percussion\, the band’s high energy performances have captivated audiences at festivals from Boomtown Fair to Wilderness. They have toured with iconic Romani brass band Fanfare Ciocarlia as well as opening for other legends including Seattle punks Kultur Shock at the 100 Club. \n \nshunTA! is comprised of London-based musicians who found each other in the bars and open-air jams of London’s Balkan and klezmer music scene. They present their personal take on Romani songs as living proof that this music transcends boundaries and touches something universally deep. Passionate about the music of Eastern Europe – and often travelling to immerse themselves in it – shunTA! released their debut album At The Kafana in 2024\, featuring original takes on songs from the ferocious ‘Ibrahim’ to the mournful ‘Mugur Mugurel’ (“bud\, little bud”). \n \nshunTA! means “Hey listen up!”\, and the band presents a live energy to match. The mini-orchestra includes a horn section\, string section\, piano\, drums and darbouka. The band have taken the festival circuit by storm (Boomtown\, Wilderness\, Camp Bestival\, Shindig\, Balter\, Secret Garden Party\, Rhythm Tree and Brighton Fringe). An incredible band led by an incredible voice\n\n\nFor more than a decade Tankus have offered a visceral\, transcendental rock ‘n’ roll experience. The hardest-working band in town\, they’ve played roughly 1400 shows\, criss- crossing the continent in the process.  \n \nLed by the redoubtable Jaz Delorean\, with João Mello on sax and vocals\, Dan Hipkin on bass\, Jack Price on guitar\, Jay Shaw on drums\, the band have scored numerous highs\, building an astonishingly loyal fanbase in the process. They’re a deeply theatrical endeavour\, akin to shows by Tom Waits or the Sensational Alex Harvey Band\, but with a modern twist\, reminiscent of the raw power of The Fat White Family or Cage The Elephant\, inviting people into a counter cultural realm for one-night-only. With a work-rate that far out-strips their peers\, the band have created a community that could rival that of the Grateful Dead\, building their audience show by show.  \n“There’s no computers\,” Jaz says. “It’s a group of musicians playing because those songs are inside them\, and they’ve got to get them out. It’s not some sanitised space.” After a decade of non-stop travel\, new album Valley of Distraction is a moment of pause\, their most focussed and intentional record yet\, it’s a sign that the storms of the pandemic could never sink their ambitions. The album was produced alongside Jim Sclavunos\, known for his seminal work with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Grinderman. An astonishing feat of storytelling\, it’s a record that thrives on community. \n \n“I can see the appeal!” – Eugene Hütz (Gogol Bordello) \n \nMango Django \nDJ Joy Alarm and DJ Applecore have spent a decade each moving crowds on festival dancefloors\, all the while soaking up the sounds of a thousand cultures like a pair of musical sponges. Mango Django is the juice you get when you wring those sponges out; a sweet\, tropical global-house syrup\, followed by a tangy rush of speed garage\, and finished off with a sharp kick of drum n bass.
