Our Thursday night treat Casa Del Ritmo is back once again for another unforgettable musical journey of rhythms on the 19th June, showcasing some of the best new Latin acts London offers. This time we welcome “Eli Rosa de trujillo & Manos Negras” to celebrate Afro-Peruvian cultural month to raise awareness and promote history and cultural contribution of female artists and Afro descendant population in Latin America.

ELI is one of the sweetest voices and most popular emerging artists in promoting peruvian music in the city, her show was one of thr highlights performances this year at Kew Gardens peruvian orchids exhibition alongside Manos Negras,a dynamic Afro-Peruvian band led by multi-percussionist Kieffer Santander, known for its energetic performances and rich musical traditions. The band, founded in 2001, brings Afro-Peruvian rhythms and melodies to international stages, blending elements of Peruvian Creole music with Afro and indigenous influences. Kieffer Santander, a key figure in the band, is a musician and composer with extensive experience in Latin percussion. The band will also feature musicians Cesar Vilcherrez & Gabriel Jimenez on guitars and Theo Archer, bass guitar.

ELI, Rosa de trujillo & Manos Negras will showcase Afro Peruvian traditional live music by well known female singers from Peru playing the likes of Victoria Santacruz, Eva Ayllon, Susana Baca, lucila campos, Lucha Reyes and ⁰national anthems from Zambo Cavero, Los Hermanos Vallumbrosio and Nicomedez SantaCruz a pioneer in modern Afro-Peruvian poetry, journalism and music who is the representative icon for this month to immerse yourself into this amazing culture and their people from Peru.

The show is based in different rhythms of black Peruvian music such as Festejos, Landos, Socabones, Zamacuecas. Also, it includes rhythms from La Lima Criolla such as the famous Peruvian vals, and the Marinera Limeña with the constant sounds of drums, ( congas, cajón, bongos ), and the mélody of classical and modern strings (classical guitar and electrónic bass), melódic voices and energétic dancers.
