Join us next thursday 17th April at Casa del Ritmo with the amazing “Ensamble Criollo Afro-Peruano” led by guitarist Giancarlo Garcia [Lokandes, Gianna] one of the most distinctive creole guitar players from Peru based in the UK featuring peruvian singer Aneth Saavedra one of the most popular and emergent voices of musica criolla, valses, Landó,Huaynos,etc..with a blend of afro-peruvian rhythms for an special unique show. She became one of the most popular voices at famous tv shows as The Voice Peru (La Voz Peru) and Los Cuatro finalistas, having some shows in Peru, Europe presenting her album Una y mil voces, alongside different collaborations and TV appearances. The show will be accompanied by special guests on piano Gustavo Alcantara and Afroperuvian percussion to bring the flavour of Peru to London.Join us to experience the famous peña criolla from Peru,not only equivalent to taking a short trip through its history, but it is also a source of pride for its roots.
Celebrating the rhythm of waltzes and in the smell of mistura and celebrate by dancing a polka, a marinera or a tondero, with pisco and handkerchief in hand, with gallantry that distinguishes the coastal dancer. This heritage, so representative of the culture of Peru, is also practiced in schools and universities and is transmitted from generation to generation.
The repertoire will be inspired by Peru’s three great regions—the coast (La Costa), the mountains (la sierra), and the jungle (la selva)—integrating their native sounds with a modern and sophisticated interpretation. Through traditional rhythms such as the Afro-Peruvian festejo, the Andean huayno, and Amazonian sounds, the essence of Peru will be evoked in an elegant and immersive concert.
