This 20th February Casa del Ritmo celebrates love with a Valentine’s edition bringing a Venezuelan Gozadera with “Nestor Pedrales y su Combo Candela” , The music show will transport you into Tropical and Caribbean rhythms with a blend of Latin Jazz, Folklore, Son, Cha cha cha, Bolero, Boogaloo, Salsa, and their roots of Afro-Latin rhythms.
We welcome from Caracas, Venezuela, “Nestor Pedrales y su Combo Candela”, bringing his musical roots and more than 40 years of experience to a new stage. A researcher of the roots of Afro-Venezuelan music and founder of traditional nucleos like El Sistema in San Tome, Anzoategui which share music from an early age with social consciousness.
Special guest Pablo Barrios, a young Venezuelan-born pianist and composer who leads the NYJO Latin Collective. With his dynamic fusion of Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms, Pablo brings an infectious energy and innovative flair to every performance, making him a standout on the UK jazz scene.Nestor Pedrales has been supporting artists as Charlie Aponte, Jose Alberto El Canario, Frankie Ruiz Jr., Orquesta La Mecanica y Trovadores de Cuba (Canary Islands) and passing to new generations his research and knowledge to keep musical traditions at Fiesta de San Juan Bautista in Venezuela among others projects.
Hosted by CarlitosNino DJ bringing the original sounds of alternative latin music and modern rhythms, this night alongside 70’s Nuyorican salsa sounds, salsa brava, Latin funk, and boogaloo alongside the past and present of Latin American music with a global twist.Join us on the third Thursday of every month at Casa del Ritmo showcasing some of the best Latin acts London offers.
