World Music Method Presents Sekura Makamanzi @ The Magic Garden
April 20 @ 7:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Gabriel “Sekuru Africa” Makamanzi is not just a musician — he is a spiritual messenger, a keeper of ancestral sound, and a bridge between worlds. His music is rooted in the sacred teachings of the Mbira Dzavadzimu, the instrument of the spirits, which has guided the Shona people in prayer, healing, and unity for generations.
Born in the mountainous lands of Chimanimani, Zimbabwe, Sekuru Africa grew up surrounded by the rhythms of nature — the whisper of wind through trees, the pulse of drums in village gatherings, and the songs of elders calling to the ancestors. From these beginnings, his musical journey became a lifelong spiritual path: a mission to connect humanity to the soul of Africa through sound.
For Sekuru Africa, music is prayer. Every performance, every workshop, every sound of the mbira carries a message — of peace, remembrance, and the living spirit of Africa. His life’s purpose is to remind the world that traditional music is not just art — it is medicine.
