Yana Vlaeva is a Bulgarian folk singer based in London, whose work centres on traditional Bulgarian songs carried through oral culture across generations. Her music moves between raw acappella singing and intimate arrangements, carrying stories of love, longing, and resilience. After years performing with choirs across Europe, Yana now focuses on her solo work, bringing Bulgarian folklore into new spaces and audiences. For this performance, she is joined by Ned Cartwright on piano and clarinet, adding a rich and sensitive accompaniment to this intimate and atmospheric set.
