Join us for our musical journey of rhythms next Thursday 21st August and every third Thursday of the month at Casa del Ritmo showcasing some of the best new Latin acts London offers. We welcome all the way from Peru “BIG POLLO ” with their unique sound and eclectic taste of Chichafunky,a fusion of Latin Funk, Soul and psychedelic Chicha (Peruvian Cumbia). Big Pollo has been reaching fans all over the globe with their new sound with a wide reference of King of funk James brown meets Chacalon, The Pharaoh of Cumbia in a Latin-Parliament-Funkadelic futuristic world.
Big Pollo is a Peruvian band formed in 2005 by Tato Elera & Milky Fresh joined this 20 years UK Tour by brothers Pepe & Bruno Timarchi. Their sound “Chichafunky” mixes Funk with Peruvian Cumbia. In 2008 they published their first album “El Big Pollo Funk”. In 2012 they release their 2nd LP “Habla”. In 2013 they toured for the first time the US and share stage with mexican band Molotov in Lima. In 2014 they tour again the US for the Smashington Music And Arts Fest in Orlando, Florida. During 2015 and 2021 they release two more album “Nuestro Mundo” and “Salud, Dinero y Amor”.
In august 2022 Big Pollo started the Funkydelia European Tour, their first EU tour in Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland and Spain. In 2023 Big Pollo released their fifth album La Chichafunky and returned to Europe for the Chichafunky European Tour playing in Boomtown Festival in in UK, Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Germany and Czech Republic.
This 2025 the band celebrates their 20 year career with various concerts in Peru and a Big Pollo 20 Years UK Tour. Provoque your body and shake your soul with the spiciest peruvian rhythm. Ready to experience Chichafunky? Join us!
