This time celebrating Colombian independence day with the most representative sound from our country, bringing memories of Parranda nights in Cartagena & Cumbia rhythms del Atlantico by this amazing collective of Colombian musicians The “London Vallenato Legends“.

The band is a bringing the legacy and origins of Cumbia & Vallenato, playing the rural roots style from the Montes de Maria region of Colombia’s Caribbean north, famous sound from the city of Valledupar, located on Colombia’s Atlantic coast and a tribute from London to all Vallenato legends (Juglares) of this unique musical genre popularized by Andres Landero the king of Cumbia, Los Corraleros de Majagual, Alfredo Gutierrez, Lisandro Meza, Escalona, Juancho Rois, Nafer Duran, ,Anibal Velasquez, Buitraguito, Aniceto Molina, Alberto Fernández Mindiola and El cacique de la junta Diomedes Diaz among others. The band is led by the powerful voice and the sounds of Javi Molina (Cartagena) on Caja vallenata who also played with famous legend Diomedes Diaz on his European tour, a bold bass guitar to keep the rhythm, sweet accordion melodies to flesh out the sound and rhythm, the alegre drum, Timbales, Maracas, and the rhythmic pulse of the rasping guiro/guacharaca, a key part of vallenato sound followed including famous Maracas from San Jacinto to contribute to the overall energetic feel of cumbia music and indigenous, african influence.

The band’s fantastic sound represents the finest expression of this type of cumbia and vallenato, a truly Caribbean art form with a London twist joined on stage by a crack squad of the finest Latin musicians in the London scene playing heavyweight Colombian-Caribbean music full of traditional Sonido sabanero, the most popular rhythms now a well-known genre across the world and known for its signature rhythm and introducing us into the tropical sounds of Son, paseo, puya and merengue.

Colombia, music is a passion that reflects the great cultural, regional and ancestral diversity of its people and geography. Much of the music is a blend of Spanish and European influences with indigenous sounds and African beats. Often dubbed the “land of a thousand rhythms,” Colombia is home to a dynamic, unforgettable and ever-evolving musical environment.
